Reminder: Over half the students did not bring in your picture or paragraph for Artssmarts! We can only get supplies for those students who have this work done. By Friday, see Mrs. Biggar if you haven't already so she can check your name off as being finished.

Please remember to bring in three pictures for L.A. class on Monday. Anyone who does not bring in the pictures will not be able to start their Artssmarts project on Tuesday!

Students should be practicing their lines for their script performance that will take place on tuesday. Attached is the rubric which states how they will be marked.

Spelling test tomorrow! Study hard.

ArtsSmarts- Tomorrow students must have 3 pictures they would like to paint and a few sentences written on each picture. Mrs. Kruger, the artssmarts volunteer will help students select one picture to paint or a combination of two or more. Students who do not arrive with a picture will randomly be given a single picture and that is what they must paint.

Grade LA 8ABCD

The writing packets for those who requested them at parent/teacher are ready. They will be sent home with students today or tomorrow. Anyone else who would like a copy to enhance writing skills, please feel free to contact me via email.

LA 8ABCD (Artssmarts)

Please bring in a minimum of 3 images for next Tuesday. Please write a few lines to go along with each saying why you would like to paint these pictures.

For Grade 8 A B and C only, please have your one page information sheet finished and here tomorrow to be signed. This may include any information about Legends and Urban Legends. If you get it signed in class tomorrow, you may use this sheet during your test on Wednesday!

Grade 8 D, you will be given a take-home test on Wednesday. You must have it completed by Tuesday when you return.

Social Studies 8A (Leroux)--Canadian difference-maker presentations due Tuesday

Remaining computer or poster presentations will be presented Tuesday afternoon. Answer who, what, where, when, why, and how for your Canadian difference-maker and their accomplishment(s).

FSL8--Song Presentations Due Monday

All students who have not presented their song project must do so on Monday--otherwise you will have to do it on your own time (noon/afterschool) due to computer availability. Lyrics must be presented to Mr. Leroux beforehand.

Reminder: Your Legend and word web were due today. If you did not pass them in, please do so as soon as possible. 8 A, B, and C also had a title page in addition to the web and legend. 8 D is not responsible for a title page.

Students have sheets for partI (should already be complete); also include your version of the Canadian flag.
Province/Territory Project Part II—due date Monday 1 Feb. 2010
1. What are the major cities/communities? (3-4, with a few details);
2. What are some beautiful (tourist?) places?
3. What drives the economy?
4. What are some cultural locations and famous artists/athletes/scientists, etc…
5. Add another detail or two not covered above. Include some visuals to show off your province/territory.
